Overview
In this video, you will see how the Firebreather® Cavity Barrier behaves when exposed to open flames. This video is a recording of a live webinar we did, and you will see three demonstrations back-to-back.
- The first one is the fire wagon, where we talk about the Firebreather® technology and how it behaves when exposed to an open flame.
- In the second test, we perform a sudden-flame-impingement demonstration. We have created the ASTM E2912 test for demonstration purposes.
- In the last test, we conducted a real-life scenario fire demonstration to show how the Firebreather® Cavity Barrier behaves when exposed to flames behind the cladding of a wall. In this test, you will also see the chimney effect in action and how it behaves behind the cladding of a wall. You will also learn why it is so dangerous and why it must be stopped.
This video is approximately 25 minutes long, so go grab a snack, a coffee, or your favorite beverage, and enjoy it while learning more about how the Firebreather® technology prevents flames from spreading.

The second test demonstrates how the Firebreather® Cavity Barrier reacts when exposed to a sudden flame.
The wall test
The third and final test demonstrates how the Firebreather® Cavity Barrier reacts in a real-life fire scenario. You’ll also learn about the chimney effect and why it’s so dangerous.

Below, we’ll give you a small glimpse of how the tests were conducted. As you can see from the pictures, there was a lot of fire and smoke. To see how the Firebreather® Cavity Barrier performed, watch the video above.
